If you have come to this page you either picked up one of our flyers, or saw our ad in the Amsterdam News. The second NYFN Black Love Celebration and Workshop will take place on Sunday, April 8th at 315 W. 110th Street at 2:30pm and the price of the ticket is for you to answer the questions below and submit them online. Once you have filled out the questions and submitted them your name will be added to the list of attendees.
Before we go any further let’s clear something up. The phrase Black Love is used here to denote a love for Black people. This event is not a workshop on romantic love. This is a workshop to explore how we people of African descent can work together to empower ourselves.
Now a few words about the questions that follow. The questions below were written to engage you in an exercise of critical analysis. After all it is difficult to empower one’s self if you don’t know who your enemies are, or what is the extent of your own power.
This workshop is the first of a series of events organized to build Black Love, Black Unity and Black Power. Love comes first, but even love doesn’t come without first attaining a level of understanding. After all it is difficult to empower one’s self without first understanding who you are, who your enemies are and what you are capable of.
Please Note: To receive a FREE ticket to the Black Panther movie you must answer and submit the questionnaire below and then attend the Black Love Workshop on Sunday, February 18th. One ticket will be granted per participant. To be eligible to receive a free ticket you must be 18 years old, or older, or be at least 16 years old, complete and submit the questionnaire and be accompanied by a parent, or guardian at the Black Love workshop who also answers and submits the questionnaire and attends the workshop.
